Unknown persons stole high voltage contact network
On November 4 of this year, unknown persons stole 120 meters of contact network in the Sean-Tsovagyugh railway section, cutting the cord under 3000 volts. The restoration work lasted 5 hours, during which the movement of freight trains was stopped. This was reported by the SCR press service.
The incident was reported to the police, the representatives of which are taking operative measures to reveal the crime.
The “South Caucasus Railway” company has suffered significant material damage.
The cases of theft and damage of railway property are becoming more frequent and dangerous. If there have been previous cases of theft of communication cables or contact networks that are not under the voltage of secondary roads, this case is notable for the recklessness of the actions. Fortunately, there are no victims or injured, and the traffic was stopped in time.
SCR once again warns citizens about the danger of violating safety standards in the railway infrastructure. By interfering with the work of the railway systems, the citizens endanger not only their health and life, but also third parties may suffer from their actions.
